What it is
MUEDsat is one stage from MUEDsp — the mastering plugin we're building to reproduce the master-bus chain our founder, a working composer and arranger, actually uses. We pulled the steel-transformer coloration out of that chain, made it a standalone plugin, and made it free.
At its heart is one thing: transformer-style saturation. Turn it up for obvious grit, or back it off until it just sits under the sound.
Five controls
- DRIVE
- How hard you push into the steel-transformer character; harmonic weight and color that grows as you turn it up.
- Air
- A clean high shelf up top, for a little sheen.
- Mix
- Blend against the dry signal for parallel saturation.
- Output
- Trim your level.
- Bypass
- A true dry passthrough, for honest A/B.
Zero latency, and no oversampling artifacts (ADAA anti-aliasing). We like it on a master bus, a drum group, or anything that wants a little more body — but we'd rather you decide with your own ears than take our word for it.
